The Basics of Interior Decoration
Human beings like birds take immeasurable pleasure in nest
building, it is vitally important in the scheme of life. Whether
starting from scratch, redesigning or copying a current design,
interior decorating offers a challenge, adventure and in most cases
excitement. There are no hard or fast rules when it comes to interior
design, every design decision is an opportunity not a problem.
There are 5 points to consider when designing your home, keep
reading and see the basics for interior decoration.
Planning
Planning does not only save you time and energy, it also stops you
from creating an expensive nightmare. To successfully create the
perfect pad to suit your personal style and comfort, create a plan that
encompasses the decorating job. From the elements of design, the
paint jobs and wall paper down to the accessories and furniture.
Color
Amongst the many problems we have to battle in Nigeria, the heat
rays from the sun tops our list. The darker the color the hotter your
home; this necessitates the exclusion of dark colors while painting
the interior of a house. This doesn't stop you from using wall papers,
rugs, and works of art in dark shades to complement your paint job.
Pick out your favorite neutrals, make them the base colors for a
decor and you're good to go.
Furniture
When making a plan for interior decoration, you must buy the
furniture and accessories together to create a line balance. If you
want large and comfortable seating at your home, you must reduce
the number of seats ordered to keep the scale balanced. The same
goes for the dining area and the bedrooms, the more the furniture,
the larger the scale, the lesser the balance.
Fabric
Fabrics are very expressive, be it patterned or plain, colored or not.
Fabrics are pricey hence they must be chosen with caution, printed
fabrics for plain coated walls and plain fabrics for patterned wall
paper. They can not only be the foundation of the design plan, the
can also provide the color scheme.
Flooring
Color combinations can give a room character, be careful when
selecting the flooring category. When creating your plan, your
personal preference between wood, tile, stone, carpets etc would
determine the color and designs to be used on your walls, wall
paper, furniture and accessories.
